Professional Women of the Finger Lakes, whose members were formerly known as the Canandaigua Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW), voted to change both its affiliation and its name in 2010, in order to more effectively meet the growing demand by local women for networking opportunities and professional development. Additionally, Professional Women of the Finger Lakes has affiliated with New York State Women, Inc., an association of 70 member chapters in 11 districts across the New York State, all of whom were formerly part of BPW New York State and BPW/USA.
Professional Women of the Finger Lakes currently focuses on these priorities:
- Community involvement
- Work-life balance
- Workplace equity
- Membership growth and promotion
To achieve these goals, the organization will maintain and enhance our scholarship and mentoring programs within the community, continue to engage with our state organization New York State Women, Inc., and strengthen the momentum of our PWFL programs.
Since 1952, we have been an active organization serving all women of Ontario and surrounding counties. We learn and grow together through education and heightened awareness of women’s issues, community service projects and various scholarship opportunities.
